Get The Clarity You’ve Been Seeking With Our Expert Evaluations.
MCAP Evaluation
At MCAP Chicago, we believe individuals deserve a deep and thorough understanding of all of the factors influencing their health and well-being. The Multidisciplinary Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP) is a tool that enables individuals to identify the issues that are causing mental or physical distress, uncover the root causes, and chart a path towards recovery.
Assessments are typically two to three days and are tailored to each client’s individual needs. The turnaround time for a full evaluation and report is 10 business days from the conclusion of the assessment.
What to Expect
It takes courage to seek support for your physical or mental health. This is true whether you’re struggling with drugs and alcohol or experiencing a psychiatric illness or other conditions that impact how you behave or think. We have profound respect for every individual who takes that step and is willing to come to us to better understand themselves and seek answers. Individuals should expect to be treated with respect and compassion, and to have the undivided attention of every member of our team that they meet with. Our team of board-certified physicians, psychiatrists, and therapists is dedicated to helping people discover what they need to know in order to move toward optimal well-being.
Conditions We Assess
-
Substance Use Disorders
Alcohol and drug use can compromise an individual's thought processes and health. We are experts in the diagnosis and treatment of addictive disorders.
-
Gambling, Pornography, and Sex Addiction
Known as behavioral addictions, gambling, pornography, and hypersexual disorders lead individuals to compulsively engage in behavior despite the negative impact on their relationships, careers, finances, and health. The MCAP team is experienced in assessing all types of behavioral addictions.
-
Chronic Pain
The National Institutes of Health estimates 25 million American adults suffer from chronic pain. Pain can cause sleep disruption, depression, and lead to opioid misuse. MCAP evaluates chronic pain and its biomedical and psychosocial contributors.
-
Neurocognitive Impairment
Neurocognitive disorders affect learning, memory, and perception. Many conditions, including depression, Parkinson's, and Alzheimer's can cause these cognitive or behavioral symptoms. The MCAP Chicago team evaluates all potential underlying causes and levels of neurocognitive impairment to determine if an individual can perform their job with reasonable skill and safety.
-
Trauma, Anxiety, and Depression
Mood disorders (i.e., anxiety and depression) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) are very common and increase an individual's vulnerability to substance abuse. MCAP Chicago can help individuals better understand if they have any of these conditions, and how those conditions are impacting behavior and possible substance abuse.
-
Eating Disorders
Many people with eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia have co-occurring depression, anxiety, trauma-related disorders, or substance use disorders. MCAP Chicago accurately diagnoses all of the conditions impacting an individual's health.
-
Personality Disorders
Determining if erratic or disruptive behavior is the result of a personality disorder is vital for individuals to understand in order to get the help they need.
-
Physical Illness
Physical and mental health are deeply linked. Substance abuse can also be a risk factor for developing both physical and mental illnesses. MCAP Chicago looks at the whole person to determine how one condition may be impacting another.
